What stands in the way

“Our actions may be impeded... but there can be no impeding our intentions or our dispositions… because we can accommodate and adapt. The mind adapts and converts to its own purposes the obstacle to our acting. The impeding to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.

Marcus Aurelius

In the occasion when conditions are not in your favor, the worst action is to turn the ship back around.

May your ship be directed by purpose and vision, rather than ocean currents and gusts of wind.

You must not grow a dependence on these two, as they will not always be present to get you to land.

The answer to your problem is how you navigate through the sea, no matter the condition.

Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors.
