Your 'not to-do' list

You are what you're not.

“We have multiplied our possessions but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We’ve learned how to make a living but not a life. We’ve added years to life, not life to years.”

George Carlin

January usually feels crisp from the air you breathe to the remaining giddiness from the holiday weekend.

This year is different— we’re in disarray, looking, waiting for change.

But the best way to change the world is to change yourself first.

And the easiest way to accomplish this is with a “not to do” list.

Repeat after me, I will not:

  • Argue with people on social media.

  • Spend money on useless stuff.

  • Waste time on gossip.

  • Get emotional over things I cannot control.

  • Cut to conclusions based on someone else’s political ideas.

  • Blame others for self-inflicted problems.

So before you figure out what to do — it’s best to figure out what not to do.
