Why I'm Quitting Drinking

You read that right.

Today is day one of no alcohol until further notice.

Yes you read that right.

But it’s the holidays Burak why would you do that??

Simply put — it’s a necessary break I’ve been excited to embark on.

But why quit? Why not just drink less?

I believe one should periodically test their self control and this is how I annually accomplish that task.

This period goes by Detox December:

A month of expedited productivity.

A month of catching up on you and not others.

A month to be selfish with putting your ambitions first.

A month of no distractions, no places to be other than alone with your thoughts.

So during this period, abstinence from alcohol and social media will allow me to start the 2022 firing on all pistons.

Get a head start on your resolutions while the rest postpone.

Practice being present without distraction.

Say no to them and yes to your ambitions.

Come join.

Three years of no booze seems impossible to even the most disciplined.
