How to Choose What to Read

Welcome to The Monday Scroll — the weekly resource where I introduce topics and ideas I came across from the past week.

Apologies for being a day late but to be fully transparent, I felt that I could not get a quality edition done by Monday so I made the choice to postpone till the next morning.

Let's get in to it.

Something to Read:

How to Choose What to Read: Doris Lessing

"There is only one way to read, which is to browse in libraries and bookshops, picking up books that attract you, reading only those, dropping them when they bore you, skipping the parts that drag – and never, never reading anything because you feel you ought, or because it is part of a trend or a movement. Remember that the book which bores you when you are twenty or thirty will open doors for you when you are forty or fifty-and vise versa. Don’t read a book out of its right time for you."

A book I've recently dropped: Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene. It's a great read but I found it to be way too dense for my liking.

Procrastination is a sin. And "getting things done" only comes through hard work. But what if overworking is the reason you’re not getting anywhere?

What if there was another way to reach your goals? What if you’ve been thinking about productivity all wrong?

Something to Listen to:
