Categorizers Anonymous

“You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.”

“What do you do?”

One of those omnipresent questions — a “categorizer” of sorts.

Where does he fit on my socioeconomic totem pole?

Can she get me something I want?

Does this person boost my status?

But equity has no tax bracket.

So why bother associating yourself with those who categorize relationships?
