Why to Avoid New Years Resolutions

And how to adjust for success in 2022

Welcome to the Monday Scroll — the resource where I introduce topics, ideas, and resources I came across from the past week.

Due to no Scroll last week (was battling a bad cold), today’s edition will be in a 2-in-1 all focused on prepping to kick 2022’s ass before it starts.

There’s lots packed in so throw the seatbelt on and enjoy the ride.

Forget Resolutions, Conduct a ‘Past Year Review’: (5 minute read)

I find resolutions only valuable for office banter at the most.

“Next year I’m gonna get back in shape” was a yearly quote my mom used to utter that always seemed to fall through by March.

And this seems to be a trend across all demographics and age.

But on the flipside, taking 30-45 minutes to reflect on the last 12 months can be a more effective alternative. It’s easier to reflect in comparison to planning ahead.

Take some time to lay out the good, bad, and [maybe] ugly of your last year and allow yourself to excel further and faster into 2022.
