Aim to Inspire

ONE IDEA: AIM TO INSPIRE, NOT TO IMPRESS

It's easy to impress someone. Learn a bunch about a certain subject, find someone who doesn’t know much about it, and tell them what you know. They'll be impressed.

What does impressing them do? Well, nothing.

They haven't gained anything from it. They’ll forget the conversation as soon as they walk away. Your inflated ego will eventually return to its natural state of being. Impressing people means nothing.

This was a passage taken from Keagan Stokoe’s Timeless Tuesday newsletter that was such a homerun in my eyes that I’d like to expand on the idea.

A lot of times humans will interact with each other in a competitive nature.

Conversations that revolve around quotas, bonuses, and that new Mercedes you got — all for the sole reason to impress.

There’s no substance to people who live to impress. Who want’s a Ferrari with no engine?

Be an example, be one of virtue and purpose.

Your peers will recognize and follow suit.

YO, before you leave — one of my favorite books is on sale for 45% off right now.

It goes by the name of Atomic Habits written by James Clear. It’s easily a top 10 read of all time for me.

Catch you Monday.
